I built Areté because I was the athlete who had everything — the data, the wearables, the training load — and still felt like no platform understood me as a complete human being. I trained through ICU shifts. Through hormonal shifts. Through the moments where life made training feel impossible. I needed a coach who understood all of it. So I became that coach. And then I built the platform that coach would use.

I have struggled with my own mental health. I know what it is to fight for consistency when your nervous system is running on empty. I know what post-traumatic growth feels like — not as a concept but as a lived experience. Resilience is not something you either have or you do not. It is something you build. Deliberately. With the right support. I built Areté to be that support.

Areté exists because excellence cannot be pursued without understanding the whole human being pursuing it. The hormones. The stress. The history. The life that happens between sessions. I built the platform I needed. Now I am building it for you.

The capacity to absorb stress and return stronger is not a soft skill. It is a physiological adaptation. We train it with the same precision as threshold intervals. Post-traumatic growth is not a concept — it is a measurable outcome we pursue deliberately.
MENTAL HEALTH IS PERFORMANCE
The cost of psychological stress is physiological and measurable. Cortisol suppresses adaptation. Chronic anxiety degrades HRV. We do not separate mental health from training. We integrate it into every decision we make.
WOMEN'S HEALTH ACROSS THE LIFESPAN CANNOT BE IGNORED
Areté was built from the beginning for the complete female athletic lifespan — from the menstrual cycle to pregnancy to postpartum to perimenopause to menopause. Every phase is supported. Every phase is coached.

Stoicism is not a mood. It is a practice built on four pillars. Wisdom — the ability to distinguish what is in your control from what is not. Courage — the willingness to act rightly in the face of difficulty. Justice — treating others and yourself with integrity. Temperance — the discipline to pursue excellence without excess. These are not passive virtues. They are the active architecture of a high-performing life. The Stoics trained themselves daily — through reflection, through hardship, through voluntary discomfort — to build a mind that could not be shaken by outcomes it could not control. You cannot control the weather on race day. You cannot control injury. You can control your preparation your response and your standard of effort. We build athletes who are unshakeable when it counts. That is Stoicism. That is discipline. That is wisdom.

Working in cardiac surgery ICU gives you a particular understanding of the human body under stress. You learn what physiological systems look like when they are adapting versus breaking down. You learn to read data not as numbers but as signals from a human being.

Every algorithm in Areté — the Areté Score, the Resilience Tax, the workout swap system, the female physiology integration — was built with clinical precision and coaching humanity simultaneously. The science is real. The care is real. You will feel both.
